We Are Cebu
One of the most rewarding experiences in life, is to have the opportunity to live and learn from different languages, cultures, religions and societies, while making new friends as we walk through the path of life, shaping our character, beliefs and thoughts. As my journey in the Philippines is coming to an end and feeling that I have grown during my time here, I have created this series of 24 low key lighting portraits representing different aspects of society from my own point of view. The chiaroscuro effect makes the portraits very intimate and that is what this series of images represent; a visual essay of an intimate conversation between subject and camera. Thankfully for me, photography has been more than a hobby or a way of self expression. It has been a way to connect with the most interesting people, a medium to learn and understand human nature and capture the best of each one of my subjects.
